Báixuě Wáng
Faceclaims: Irwyne Liliath from Becoming the Obsessive Male Lead’s Ex-Wife and Kate Sanada from Tsuritama (eyes are recolored blue / the form she takes on when shapeshifting as an old woman.)
Note: Thanks to my cousin for helping me develop this original character who is Saya and Diva’s maternal grandmother and helping approve of my voice claim choice. Imperial guard is the archaic term for chevaliers in our headcanon which I took from the third Blood+ novel. Her daughters’ names are inspired by J.A’s Gabrielle from The Three Guardians. Thanks to @featherchan for finding her elderly disguise faceclaim for me.
Báixuě Voice Claims: Catherine Bell (English), Her singing voice claim is Helene Fischer (German/English/Italian). Zhang Bichen (Chinese).
Personal History: Back in Ancient China, two Chiropteran Queens, Yuè (the elder Blue Queen) and Xià (the younger Red Queen) were involved in a war with each other. The heir to the throne was still young so Duke Han Guan Qiang acted as the regent. But both factions wanted to manipulate the little emperor for their purposes which was to rule China through the boy emperor. Yuè’s side wanted to expand the kingdom while Xiá wanted the emperor to grow up then state that he would conquer other countries. Han Guan Qiang was a duke who was Xià’s right hand man and imperial guard (her lover when he was still human) but was seduced by Yuè to join her side. This later resulted in the conception of Báixuě and Méi gui hóng. Yué may have seduced Han Guan Qiang in the beginning, but she came to care for him and love him.
Yuè gave birth to her daughters during winter, in the German woods. Her elder daughter was the blue-eyed Báixuě and her younger daughter was the red-eyed Méi gui hóng. They were raised by their mother’s imperial guard, Lin You Fu.
Báixuě’s life exploits inspired the fairy tales of Snow White and Rose Red and Snow White. When the bear resumed his form of a 12-year-old prince, Báixuě was 5 years old so he promised that he would come back for her when she was a lady.
As a child, Báixuě became a replacement for Princess Schneewittchen who died at a young age as her sister called her by her German name which was the same as the late princess while Lin You Fu took them to buy groceries in the village which attracted the attention of the King who was hiding in the village. When Báixuě was presented to the Queen, she was delighted to see that her “daughter” had returned. Báixuě missed her family but decided to stay behind since it was the first time she had ever felt a mother’s love. She was eventually reunited with her family when she suffered from bouts of lethargy and fainting spells which no one knew how to cure except for the imperial guard who raised her. The King decided to bring the imperial guard and Méi gui hóng into the palace to live with her. A month later, the Queen had died, and the King married again.
It was during this period that Báixuě and her family attempted to run away from the palace. Without the Queen, there was no longer any reason for her to stay. The new Queen was very beautiful but Snow White and her family had a bad feeling every time they were near her. After they were caught trying to escape, the King mournfully asked Báixuě was she going to leave him as well; now that he had lost his daughter and wife? Because the King seemed so heartbroken, she lost the desire to leave for his sake. She did her best to be a good daughter for him until his eventual death. When the new Queen took over as ruler of the country, she forced Báixuě’s family to leave but reluctantly kept Báixuě to avoid further controversy.
The beautiful Queen was a witch and she possessed a magic mirror that could only speak the truth. Every day, she would ask the magic mirror who was the fairest in the land and it would always answer that it was her until Báixuě finally turned 16.
The Queen was filled with intense envy and despised Báixuě even more. Soon, she called for her huntsman to take the girl into the forest and kill her. 7 loyal servants who were unaware of the huntsman’s true intentions offered to accompany Báixuě on her walk. The huntsman murdered them when they tried to get in the way of his task but could not find it in himself to kill Báixuě after all and ran away, frightened of what he had done. Báixuě recalled the words of her mother’s imperial guard and used her blood to revive all of them as her imperial guards. The huntsman cut out the heart of a boar and presented it to the wicked Queen as Snow White. The wicked Queen ate it, believing Snow White to be dead.
Although the Prince and Báixuě were separated for many years, they kept in touch by writing letters to each other back when she lived in the palace. It was through these letters that Báixuě learned of the location of the evil dwarf who had cursed him and his remaining 6 brothers. They lived near a diamond mine. Báixuě ’s imperial guards had slain them and taken their places to utilize their home and mine.
The Queen attempted to kill Báixuě but failed. She did not kill Báixuě with the poison apple as Chiropterans possessed a strong immunity to poison. However, after seeing Báixuě’s glow out of anger for her foolish reasoning for wanting to kill her, the wicked Queen feared for her life and cast a sleeping spell upon her.
The imperial guards tried everything they could to wake their mistress up, even give her their blood, but she did not stir. They kept her in a glass coffin and notified Báixuě’s family and the Prince of the incident. Méi gui hóng asked them to lift the lid so that they could all bid Snow White one last goodbye. All her guards kissed her hand one by one. The imperial guard who acted as her father gave her a kiss on the forehead, Rose Red gave her a kiss on the cheek, and the Prince kissed her on the lips. The power of their combined love woke Snow White up.
Báixuě and the Prince had a double wedding with Méi gui hóng and his brother. The wicked Queen was also invited and dressed herself in nice clothes only to learn from the magic mirror that both her rivals in beauty were still alive. At first, she decided not to attend the wedding, but she wanted to make sure it was true. She was forced to wear iron slippers that had been put upon the fire and brought in with tongs before her. The heat of the slippers caused her to dance to her death.
Báixuě bore two daughters. Her eldest red-eyed daughter had silver hair and her name was Gabriela while the youngest blue-eyed daughter had golden hair and her name was Gabriele. The reason her daughters had such unnatural hair-colors was because during her pregnancy; she consumed silver garlic and golden rampion from a witch’s garden which magically altered the colors of their hair to match the plant they received nutrition from. Báixuě’s youngest daughter was taken into custody by the witch who owned the garden, Gothel. She renamed Gabriele as Rapunzel but called her “Little Golden-Hair.” When her eldest daughter, Gabriela, went missing, she and her husband noticed that Gabriela’s imperial guard, Johann, had been going off on his own lately and had him lead them to Rapunzel. When the witch arrived at the window, Báixuě ran her through with her sword and Gothel finally died.
There were rumors that a red eyed, silver-haired mermaid was swimming around in Iceland. Qiuyue (Báixuě’s blue-eyed cousin and daughter of Xià) heard the same rumors and went to investigate which led her to find Gabriela (Saya & Diva’s aunt) in the process. Gabriela told Qiuyue her story and Qiuyue collaborated with Gabriela to get revenge against Gabriele (Saya & Diva’s mother). Báixuě, Friedrich, Gabriele, Johann, Báixuě’s imperial guards went to Iceland after hearing the rumors in hopes of reuniting with Gabriela.
The group was separated, and Qiuyue worked together with Gabriela to kill Gabriele. Then, Qiuyue killed Friedrich, Johann, and Báixuě’s imperial guards. Báixuě killed Qiuyue for vengeance. Báixuě disowned Gabriela. Jolie (Saya and Diva’s third cousin and Qiuyue’s granddaughter who was the replacement of the spirit of the Magic Mirror) reminded Báixuě that Méi gui hóng was waiting for her back in Germany.
30 years later, Báixuě and Méi gui hóng were finally reunited with their mother. Yué wanted to live a happy life with her family and forgot about ambition and revenge but when she and her family moved to Japan due to Báixuě’s wish to leave Germany and stayed there for a while, Xiá learned of her location and killed her and her imperial guard. Báixuě charged at Xiá for vengeance, but Méi gui hóng hesitated due to their similar appearances and Xiá’s superior strength. Xiá mistook Báixuě for her elder sister, Yuè, as she had gone insane and tried to kill her. When it seemed that Báixuě was truly in peril, Méi gui hóng finally stepped in and the sisters worked together to kill Xiá.
