Tamami Hiishi

Note: Her athlete references which inspired part of her backstory are Stephanie Gilmore and Rodney Mullen. This post was used as reference for her daily schedule when there’s no S.
Personal History: Tamami is the youngest of three children and the only daughter of Kaji and Miuna Hiishi. She was born and raised in Naha, Okinawa. She had seen her eldest brother, Akihiro, surf and wanted to do the same but her strict father who used to be in the military and was now working as a doctor said that she needed to wait until she was 9 for Akihiro to teach her how to swim and surf. He followed up with the condition. Tamami spent time with Akihiro and his surfing friends when she could, and they often skated on weekdays which made her want to try skating, but Akihiro said that she needed to ask permission from their father first.
Kaji said that Tamami needed to wait until the following year and if she was still interested in learning how to skateboard then she needed to always wear protective gear and if she ever got seriously injured then she would have to quit. When Tamami turned 10, she was still seriously interested in learning how to skateboard, so her father reluctantly paid for her skateboarding classes. She enjoyed freestyle skating in addition to street skating.
Tamami attended the same high school as Kaoru Sakurayashiki and Kojiro Nanjo. While heading home from school, Kojiro saw her do an ollie and a 360 flip on her skateboard as she skated home and he invited her to S, but she declined on account of her strict father.
Tamami got into a university in Tokyo where she studied fashion design. After working for 3 years at a fashion company, she returned to Okinawa to start her own fashion company. Her other brother, Akihiro’s younger twin, Akihito, asked her to be on his beach volleyball as he was aiming for the grand prize and needed enough people as one of his friends couldn’t participate in the competition. As she trained, she found herself enjoying beach volleyball and Akihiro’s friend who learned that she was a skater invited her into S.
Tamami developed the persona, “Fire Ruby”, for S. As “Fire Ruby”, she was dressed in red Classic Lolita clothing and wore ruby earrings with golden butterfly frames. Five of her female employees got entangled in her other life at S and became her fangirls. Tamami was aware of her bisexuality but through S, she discovered her polyamorous nature as she developed intimate relationships with her fangirls. Even kissing them publicly at S but keeps this side of her in wraps in public. Around her family, she is a good daughter and at work, she is a strict boss and nicknamed the “Crimson Witch” by the employees who detest her domineering attitude.
Name Meaning: Her first name means “beautiful gem”. Her surname with the kanji for “fire”, “stone, rock”.

Personality: Ever since Tamami was little, she has always been willing to try new things. She is rather prideful of her beauty and physical capabilities in fashion design, surfing, skating, and playing beach volleyball. Tamami chooses to act like the ideal Japanese woman around her family out of her love and respect for them, but she has accepted that the different sides she shows all are parts of her. However, she has always been passionate and when angered, she can get a bit hysterical. When she is displeased, she can intimidate someone into submission with her domineering speech and eerie smiles and smirks. However, around the people she loves, she is rather caring and can even be motherly.
Her hobby is photography.
As a child, Tamami spent time with her older brothers often and was persistent about trying new things she thought was cool.
Tamami believed in Santa until she could no longer. She wrote letters to Santa and obediently went to bed on time on Christmas Eve since she was generally a good girl and Santa won’t give her presents if she’s awake! Now that she’s an adult, she knows it was really her parents who were Santa. Before loving skating, she would have wanted fashion dolls and clothing kits for them for Christmas.
Tamami is a “regular” skater, meaning that she prefers to skate with her left foot at the front of the board.
Tamami is popular with both sexes.
Tamami would have participated in the Coming-of-Age Day in Okinawa and would have dressed up in a flashy outfit.
Her fashion sense is elegant. She wears business formal to work, brand outfits in general which includes suit dresses, dresses that has an aesthetic reminiscent to the Victorian period, Classic Lolita outfits. She also often wears her own designs. For a date, depending on her mood and the date location, she’d either wear a suit dress, a dress with an aesthetic reminiscent of the Victorian period, or a Lolita outfit. If someone snapped a picture of her on the street, she’d ask for a copy of the photo then delete it.
Tamami tends to wear silk pajamas to bed.
Tamami’s omotenashi would be serving food and drinks to her guests. They’d talk in the living room and or watch TV together if her guest wants to watch.
For Valentine’s Day and White Day, Tamami would make chocolates and add cherries in it if she knows the other party is ok with it, she will also buy or design nice clothing for them.
Tamami would want to go to the beach for a summer date. She usually swims, surfs, and plays beach volleyball at the beach. She could teach her date how to do her activities if they didn’t know how. She would try to bring an umbrella for hot weather or rainy weather but if she forgets and gets caught in the rain, she would pout and if her date called her cute, she’d be irritated and insist that she is always beautiful and never cute but the sight of her date wet would make her giggle and the giggling would be infectious.
Tamami would like a surprise proposal. She would like a grand reception. She would want “see ya” kisses every day. She would want to go to Paris for her honeymoon. She would be loving and intimate with her spouse and cook for them but would have to work on compromising with them. Her spouse would have to be a bit patient with her as she can have childish reactions when upset.
Tamami would be good at taking care of children. She would be loving with her children and make cute bentos for them.
Tamami’s animal motifs are the butterfly and the lioness. She always wears a golden butterfly necklace with a ruby in the center and she only wears complementary earrings at S. Her board also has an image of a ruby with flaming Red Lacewing butterfly wings. Her birthday would make her a Leo (the zodiac sign of the lion) which goes along with her fire theme. She is elegant, passionate, intimidating, and motherly like a lioness.
Fire Ruby’s tournament card is the Queen of Hearts.
Tamami’s daily schedule when there’s no S.
7:00 – 7:30 Wakes up, washes her face, applies moisturizer to her face, brushes her teeth, does morning stretches.
7:30 – 8:00 takes a shower, cooks her breakfast, makes a cup of tea, eats, gets ready for the workday, and locks the door to her home before getting in her car.
9:00 – 10:00 Drives to the company, opens the company, and works on emails, order processing, deals with business tasks which includes photoshoots, collaborations, PR, etc.
11:00 – 14:00 Sometimes there are fittings for appointments or meetings. Takes her lunch break at 14:00.
15:00 – 18:00 Reviews social media accounts and performance of online campaigns. Fitting appointments are also booked around this hour. Does administrative tasks. Passes orders of the day.
19:00 – 21:00 Leaves the company, cooks, eats dinner, watches TV (evening news then Japanese dramas.)
22:00 – 23:00 Evening stretches, washes her face, brushes her teeth, applies moisturizer to her face, and goes to bed.
